Are you ready to go on the Sagres bird-watching tour?

This Sagres bird watching tour is a must for all nature lovers visiting the Algarve. This boat trip to search for sea birds takes approximately 2,5 hours and departs from the Baleeira harbor in Sagres. The boat tour will have as its main goal to go birdwatching.

Sagres has huge biodiversity and a beautiful coastline, it’s the main crossing point in Portugal for migratory birds. Especially between August and November, Sagres becomes a birding hotspot where many Western European raptors can be seen.

The bird-watching tour will start with a brief explanation of safety precautions from a specialized nature guide. Some species of birds we have seen: Northen gannet, the Cory´s Shearwater, the Balearic Shearwater, the Greaat shearwater, the Sooty Shearwater, the European Storn-petrel, Wilson´s Storm Petrel, Great Skua, Common Tern or Sandwich Tern.

Onboard we will provide you with life jackets and if windy, we can also arrange a wind jacket. We recommend bringing warm clothes, even in the summer months. Bring a bottle of water and some sunscreen, and be sure to bring your camera or smartphone with you (passengers’ insurance doesn`t cover damages or value losses).

We have partnered with research and marine environment conservation associations to prioritize sustainability and conservation of marine biodiversity. If you want to bring your camera, it should be well-conditioned (the insurance of the vessel or passengers does not cover damage or loss of value).

Come join us on our boat trip to see some beautiful birds in their natural habitat. Our rigid inflatable passenger boat is super safe. This type of boat is used many times for rescue auctions.

Due to the high speeds and sometimes rough seas, this experience is not recommended for pregnant women, people with bone or spine problems or recent surgery.

Sagres
Sagres is a place that feels wild and untamed, and we loved every second of it. The beaches are perfect for surfing, but we also recommend kayaking along the dramatic cliffs and taking boat trips to explore the hidden coves. Sagres has a raw beauty that made our trip feel like an adventure, and the sunsets over the Atlantic were something we’ll never forget.
