Swim like a Mermaid in Heraklion

Have you ever wished to become a mermaid or a merman? The Try Mermaid program can help turn this dream into reality! You will have the opportunity to complete a mermaid experience in a safe and controlled environment and learn the basics of mermaid swimming. By the end of the program, you will earn your Try Mermaid recognition rating.

Mermaid diving is a new and exciting trend in the world of diving. Instead of using traditional scuba gear, divers wear a mermaid tail, which allows them to swim like a mermaid or merman. Mermaid diving is suitable for all, regardless of their level of experience, as long as they are comfortable in the water and possess basic swimming skills. The snorkeling itself takes around 40 minutes. 

Mermaid diving is not just about swimming with a tail. It is also about discovering the underwater world in a new and magical way. In mermaiding, the participants use their entire bodies, similar to the dolphin movement. The movement starts in the chest and continues like a wave throughout the entire body. The mermaid tail adds an element of fantasy and fun to the dive, and many divers enjoy performing tricks and swimming in formation with other mermaids.

The meeting point is at the base located at Eleutheriou Venizelou 2, Agia Pelagia village. We will pick up from the participant’s hotel, as it is within our designated pick-up areas. The diving area is Mononaftis Bay. Please note that we do not have boats, so each course is from the beach. Spectators can join us until the beach if there is space available in the van. For non-participants, there is an extra charge of 10€ per person for the transfer, and they are allowed to join if there is space in the van.

Pick-up areas, if required, include Fodele, Agia Pelagia – Mononaftis Bay, Ammoudara, Gazi, Heraklion, Made, Kokkini Hani, Gouves, Gournes, Hersonissos, Malia, and Stalida.
