This experience to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Madeira on a boat takes place on RIB Boats with space for up to 18 people each. Good price, extremely friendly and professional crew, boat and kit in great order. Saw several species even on an “off” day. The resident biologist’s and captain’s almost childlike glee and cheering when we spotted a fin whale was amazing and genuine - great experience!

Perfect excursion. Excellent marine biologist. We were given extra time and saw 2 fin whales, dozens of pilot whales, and dozens of bottle nose dolphins. Very cool. Boat has rain jackets.

This is *just* for the New Years Eve fireworks tour:

The confirmation email for this event listed a meeting location and time in large, bold font: Galerias São Lourenço Store 35 in Funchal. Depart at 11 PM. However, buried in much smaller print, it stated the actual meeting point was the Funchal Marina near the mermaid statue at 10 PM, with departure at 11 PM.

We showed up at the location listed in the bold text, frantically searching and calling the tour company three times with no response. When we finally gave up and stumbled upon the mermaid statue later (after 11 PM) we found several other frustrated customers who had also missed the departure due to the same unclear instructions. The staff (and I get it, you're working on new years so you're upset) yelled at us instead of offering solutions. While they claimed to have called me (the call didn't go through), they showed that they called AT 11 PM—when the boat was already leaving—not beforehand to assist.

This was a small tour and over half of the people missed it...

For such an important event, clear communication is critical. I used to do a TON of email marketing for events and people miss details unless it's BOLD and clear. The correct meeting point and time should be prominently displayed in the email, not a totally different meeting place that's up the street.

Ultimately, we missed the tour but still enjoyed the fireworks from the harbor, which was beautiful and stress-free. My advice: skip this tour and watch the fireworks from the shore. You'll have a great time and won't be out so many euros!!

3시간을 배에서 돌고래와 고래를 보러 다녔지만 결국 하나도 보지 못했다. 우리의 의도대로 되지 않는 자연을, 우리의 의도대로 되지 않을 수 있으니 충분히 이해할 수 있다.
그러나 티켓을 구매할 때 우리는 1인당 €60를 지불하고 고래와 돌고래를 볼 수 있다는 개런티를 설명 받았다. 더 싼 티켓은 아마 볼 수 없다는 설명을 들었고 그래서 기꺼이 더 비싼 티켓을 구매했다.
돌아오는 길에 느낌상 일부러 사람들을 물에 젖게하며 더 힘들게 만들었다. 환불해주기 싫어서라는 느낌도 받고 당연히 환불받지 못했다. 원하면 다시 또 탑승하라고 했다. 배에서 내리며 다시는 절대 탑승하기 싫었다. 신발, 바지 모두 완전히 물에 푹 젖었다. 살짝 젖을수 있다고 했지만 바지와 신발은 바다에 빠졌다 나온 사람처럼 되어 있었다. 오늘만 그럴 수 있었지만, 경험상 겨울에 추천하지 않는다.

Leider ein völliger „Schlag ins Wasser“. Die Crew war anfangs noch bemüht, damit wir zumindest irgendetwas sehen, leider bei 3 Stunden Fahrt nichts gesehen. Das ist auch ok, da man Delphin- oder Walsichtungen wohl nicht erzwingen kann. Was allerdings sehr offensichtlich war, dass aufgrund der „Garantie“, dass man Delphine oder Wale zu sehen bekommt, nach anfänglichen 2,5h moderater Fahrt, der Bootsführer die letzte halbe Stunde alles dafür unternommen hat, dass wir alle trotz wasserdichter Jacken bis auf die Knochen völlig durchnässt wurden. Im Sommer vielleicht lustig, im Winter weniger. Sind völlig durchnässt und durchfroren nach 3h Irrfahrt im Hafen angekommen, die Teilnehmer waren entsprechend sauer und keiner wollte nach dieser Fahrt einen Voucher (die „Garantie“) für eine weitere Fahrt. Ein Schelm, wer böses dabei denkt. Nie wieder.

The female receptionist was incredibly rude to myself and my friends on arrival. I had no data so couldn’t access my booking and she huffed and puffed becoming passive aggressive with me rather than provide me with the wifi to retrieve it.

The tour itself was enjoyable and we managed to see Pilot whales and Dolphins up close which seems to be the most common sightings for this tour looking at previous reviews.

On arrival back to land, we asked if we could use the bathroom at their reception as we had been out on the water for over two hours and the guide again advised us to go to McDonalds instead and deterred us from using their facilities.

After paying 63 euro for the tour, access to the bathroom should be the bare minimum offered. Overall the staff could work on treating customers with better respect as this was hugely off putting and would deter me from reccomending this company to friends in the future.

This was a lovely experience. We saw bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales. Our guide was very knowledgeable, describing the animals and providing interesting information. The route included wonderful views of the cliffs, shoreline, and the city of Funchal. Even if there were no sightings, I would recommend this activity to see the island from a different perspective.

Niesamowite wrażenie i spełnienie największego marzenia - zobaczyć delfiny w ich naturalnym środowisku, wolne i szczęśliwe. Coś czego nie da się zapomnieć. Wspaniała wycieczka, bardzo dobrze zorganizowana, gwaranacja zobaczenia delfinów. Profesjonalni obserwatorzy wyszukują z dużej odległości, gdzie aktualnie znajdują się delfiny dają znać i tam płynie szybka łódź.
