Thinking Of Visiting Italy? You Definitely Should

Are you thinking of visiting Italy? You definitely should. This country is absolutely beautiful, and there’s nothing quite like getting to experience its breathtaking views first hand for the first time. Of course, Italy has lots of stunning places that you should visit, and if you don’t have time to visit them all in the one trip, you’ve got to decide where to start. Remember, you can always come back another time and visit another city.

In order to choose where to go, you need to think about what you’re looking for from your trip, and whether there are any festivities on at the time, as this should help you to make a decision! Down below, we’re going to be looking at some of the options that we think you should consider, so keep reading if you would like to find out more.

Rome

The first option that we’re going to look at is Rome. The capital of the beautiful country, Rome is one of the most common tourist spots in the entire country. Thanks to its rich culture, the history, and the beauty of the place, it makes it a popular sport for those visiting. This is especially true for those people who are interested in history as there is so much to see and do.

For example, you can visit the Trevi Fountain, just be aware that there are likely going to be large crowds surrounding it. Legend says that if you toss a coin into the fountain, it will ensure that you return to Rome one day. Or, you can head over to see the Colosseum but you need to book tickets for this beforehand, so don’t forget. If the history buff in you isn’t quite finished, there’s also the Pantheon that you can head and check out!

As you can see, there are plenty of things to do in Italy’s capital, so it’s an incredible place to visit.

Venice

Known for being quite the romantic spot for couples, Venice is another area of Italy that we strongly recommend you visit. You can take a lovely gondola ride exploring the city’s canals, or you can simply walk around and take in the natural beauty of the space. There are plenty of museums for you to visit if you are interested in the history and culture of the place, as well as plenty of recreational activities for you to partake in.

There are plenty of festivals that take place in Venice throughout the year, so if you want your trip to line up with one of these, a quick Google search will give you a list of dates. You can then plan your trip so that you can attend one of these incredible events, getting the full experience while you are away.

Milan

If you love arts and fashion, then Milan is definitely the place to visit. If the arts call to you and you want to see something truly incredible, then we recommend visiting Brera, the fine art district of Milan. You can visit the Brera Art Gallery and the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, mixing with some of the finest artists and art lovers you will ever meet. There are plenty of beautiful restaurants for you to dine in, or you can head to a cozy little sidewalk cafe to live your authentic Italian dream.

Most people only spend a couple of days in Milan before moving onto another part of Italy or heading back home. It’s a busy place, and we can understand why you may be concerned about having your items with you. The good news is that if you have a late flight but you have to check out of your hotel early, there are storage solutions like Milan central station luggage storage that you can utilize while you see the rest of what Milan has to offer.

Oh, and while it’s not for everyone, the Teatro alla Scala is a prestigious opera house. Even if it’s not typically your thing, if you have the time and the funds to go here, we strongly recommend that you do, even just for the experience.

Naples

We’re sure that you have heard of the volcano that erupted and destroyed Pompeii all those years ago, right? Well, if it would interest you to visit the ruins they are not far from Naples and you can easily get there by train. You can also hike Mount Vesuvius, the volcano responsible for it all if this is something that interests you. It’s a 4 mile hike, so be prepared for a long trek!

As well as this, you can eat pizza in the city where it was born, visit some of the most breathtaking museums, take an after dinner stroll on the Lungomare like a true Italian, and try some authentic Italian pastries. There is so much to see and do in Naples and the surrounding areas, that you’re never going to be bored. We mean, how could you be with such a beautiful city right outside your hotel window? The views here are truly something else, and a reason to visit all on their own, even without the added attractions.

Again, you can either spend a few days here and then move on to somewhere nearby, or you can just spend all of your time wandering the streets of arguably one of the most beautiful cities we’ve ever seen.

So, if you were thinking of visiting Italy, now you’ve got a few ideas of where you can go and what you can do. It’s always a good idea to have a plan of the things that you want to do when you get to specific places as this helps you to avoid missing out on anything while you are here. However, there are some people who just like to turn up and start exploring, and if that’s your style then go for it. We just want you to have a fantastic Italian holiday, no matter where in Italy you choose to go.
