Schnorcheln

There’s something magical about snorkeling that just brings out the explorer in everyone. You don’t need to be a pro swimmer (but need to know minimum swimming skills and feel comfortable in the water) or have fancy gear to enjoy it, which makes it accessible to almost everyone, from kids to adults.

It’s like being part of an underwater world, where you can float over colorful coral reefs and swim among fish, turtles, and sometimes even rays.

The best part? You don’t have to dive deep to see amazing marine life—it’s all right there below the surface. I remember snorkeling in México at a reef where I was completely surrounded by schools of bright, colorful fish and turtles!

If you’re traveling with kids, snorkeling is such a fun, educational activity that they’ll remember forever. They get to see fish up close, explore the water, and maybe even spot a sea turtle or two. As for when to go, we’d recommend late spring through early fall. That’s when the water is at its clearest and warmest, which makes it much easier to spot marine life. Plus, it’s just so refreshing to be in the water when the weather is warm. It’s the perfect activity for both adventurers and those looking to relax and connect with nature.
