Parasailing Algarve

Because it combines the ocean and the sky while adrenaline flows through your body,  parasailing Algarve is one of the most exciting ways to explore your holiday destination.

Don’t you know this awesome watersport? Parasailing is also known as parascending or parakiting and is a recreational kiting activity where you are towed behind a boat (or a car, in some cases), in the air, while attached to a specially designed canopy wing that looks like a parachute – the parasail wing. If the boat is powerful enough, two or three people can parasail behind it at the same time.

Parasailing can be done all over the world, both behind a boat or on land, behind a car. In the Algarve, Portugal, and other coastal holiday destinations, parasailing is usually done behind a boat. 

However, throughout Europe, land-based parasailing has been transformed into a competition sport. In land-based competition parasailing, the parasail hangs behind a 4 wheel drive vehicle and is towed to maximum height.

The idea is that the driver releases the tow line and the parasailer flies to a target area in an accuracy competition. This sport and its competitions were developed in the early 80’s and has been very popular ever since.

Parasailing Algarve is, in fact, the perfect activity for the most fearless people! After receiving a full safety briefing, you’ll get on board of a speed boat and step into the adventure of flying alone up to 120 meters or tandem up to 40-meter height above bays of Lagos, Vilamoura or Albufeira and enjoy the spectacular and unique view.

In Lagos, parasailing can be done on your own or with two people (tandem) and in Vilamoura or Albufeira you can even go parasailing with three people! The maximum height is 150m. Do you dare?

Parasailing in Lagos, Vilamoura or Albufeira is a must if you’re on holidays in the Algarve and like adrenaline! In general, one of the advantages of this water sport is that it can be done whole year round as long as the sea conditions are suitable, also because it’s suitable for all ages, since parents can go with their young kids. 

We recommend you not to forget to bring sunscreen, swimming gear and a towel, a snack and water too because it’s a sport in the end and you’ll get hungry and thirsty. Also, we suggest booking in advance as parasailing Algarve depends upon weather conditions and is a very popular activity during the busy summer months!
